Heat pumps
A heat pump utilises the energy extracted from the environment – air, groundwater or earth – and converts it into usable thermal energy through compression, which can be used to heat a building and provide hot water.
In this way, the extracted energy accounts for up to 75 % of the energy required by the heat pump, allowing you to heat your home not only in a more environmentally friendly way, but also at a lower cost.

Photovoltaics and heat pump - the perfect combination
A heat pump works with 75 % environmental energy and 25 % electricity. It is therefore most advantageous to install a heat pump together with a photovoltaic system. The electricity generated by the photovoltaic system is used to power the heat pump, reducing the building’s heating costs to zero.
The combination of these two technologies enables complete energy independence, lower energy costs and a reduction in greenhouse gases.
Subsidies for heating system replacement in Germany
The Bundestag passed a Heating Systems Act at the beginning of September. The new regulations will come into force on 1 January 2024. Accordingly, newly installed heating systems must use at least 65 per cent renewable energy.
